Is it that time of the week already?! This week I’ve been looking at film blogs, and I’ve gathered a few of my favourites below for your perusal. You may be aware that I have my own film blog – and though I haven’t included it below (come on, that would be really big headed!) you may want to have a look at it here http://thefilmangel.blogspot.com.

Besides being an attractive and thorough movie review site – I particularly like The Movie Blog for it’s tagline. Namely “The Movie Blog: The Official Home of Correct Movie Opinions.” You can’t beat a bit of shameless arrogance in a movie critic now can you?! As well as reviews of all the latest blockbusters, the Movie Blog also includes articles on interesting aspects of the film industry (I enjoyed their recent article about the roles famous stars have turned down). Regular features include “Forgotten Friday” which reviews films you’ve forgotten all about.
filmjunk.com
Film Junk is a long-standing film blog based in Ontario, Canada. Posting daily reviews, gossip and news from the movie industry since 2006, topics range from big budget blockbusters to arthouse indie flicks. Film Junk also post a regular podcast. With regular polls and trailer releases, Film Junk is a great blog to read if you like to keep up with movie news.

And now for something completely different! Stacey Parks created The Independent Film Blog to teach filmmakers all the things that they didn’t learn at film school. Posting articles on a variety of relevant subjects from self-distribution of films to this years top Cannes picks – Stacey attempts to help independent film makers to get the best out of the industry. Stacey is the author of book The Insider’s Guide to Independent Film Distribution which is available to buy here on Amazon.
